High School Fair

On October 17, LaSalle II joined seventeen other Network 6 elementary schools to host our annual High School Fair. We are thrilled to say that this year had the best turnout yet! 42 high schools and over 100 middle school students and families attended. We hope to continue to grow attendance and help more families learn about high school options in future years!

GoCPS High School Application Process

Over the years, the district has heard from families about the importance of having a choice in selecting which high school provides the best match for their child’s needs. We’ve also heard that applying to high school can be frustrating and confusing. So this year, Chicago Public Schools has completely revamped its high school application process for students that will be freshman in the 2018-19 school year with the launch of GoCPS, a new website where students and families will be able to:

  • Review school and program options in one place
  • Rank these school and program choices based on their preferences
  • Be matched with their highest possible choice for high school

We encourage each of you to subscribe by clicking the link below. This will allow you to receive important updates and announcements about this process. This is especially important for our current 6th and 7th graders.

High School Fair, 10/17

LaSalle II parents!

LaSalle II would like to formally invite all middle school families to attend our upcoming high school fair this Saturday, October 17, from 10:00-11:30am at our school. Dozens of schools will be in attendance, including neighborhood, selective enrollment, magnet, charter, and private high schools. The best way to explore options for high school is to talk to these representatives.

Our counselor, Ms. Sapieka, will also be presenting on the high school application process in Chicago, as well as making appointments for upcoming one-on-one meetings as needed for students and families.

For additional high school information, please visit Ms. Sapieka’s classroom page HERE. You can also get to the counselor page from the staff page of the LaSalle II website or by clicking ‘school counselor’ from the ‘families’ tab on the website.

Hope to see you!

LaSalle II High School Acceptances

Each year LaSalle II staff and students aim to find the best fit for each 8th grade student in his or her high school placement. After advocating for each student and celebrating all successes, we excitedly send off our 51 students to high schools around the city and Chicagoland area. We are extremely proud of each and every one of our Falcon graduates, and would like to share a few of the accomplishments they have received.

Our 8th grade class has received a record-breaking 30 offers to selective enrollment and International Baccalaureate (IB) high schools in CPS! Additionally, 6 offers for magnet schools, 3 for military academies, and 11 for private schools are scattered throughout the class. 35% of our students will be enrolling in selective programs this fall! Be sure to congratulate all the LaSalle II 8th graders you know on their outstanding finish!
