The kindergarten classes spent much of January studying “Homes Around the World”.
During the unit students read multiple non-fiction texts filled with pictures and information about homes around the world. Lessons focused on climate/geography, building materials, and the process of constructing a home. Students met an architect and were able to practice making blueprints for a real house. The unit concluded with a trip to Legoland and a showcase of the students’ miniature homes from around the world.
