First Grade Butterflies

We’re raising butterflies in 1st-grade! Students have been learning about the life-cycle of a butterfly — egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly — by observing real caterpillars in our very own classroom!

Soon, the caterpillars will undergo the amazing metamorphosis process, transforming into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. Students are meanwhile working hard on creative research projects about various butterfly species, and excitedly counting the days until we can release our butterflies on the playground.
