Fifth Grade Creative Writing
On February 17, Ms. Kolkmeyer and Mrs. McIlvain took their students to a creative writing workshop at Open Books. This organization provides writing workshops to students in grades 5-12.
Our students honed their writing skills in an essay that provided clues to their personalities through a description of their bedrooms. The two hour workshop concluded with students donning a pencil costume to read the essays aloud. Each student also received a used book valued at $10.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Martinez, who showed up to chaperone the trip.
