French Class Highlights for November

As the French students entered the second quarter of the year they studied the different weather conditions as well as the four seasons. This unit was to be followed by a unit on clothing.

Around that same time the School’s Community Relations committee decided to launch a clothes drive for the Holidays. Cecilia M. a seventh grader in my class suggested that we help in the effort to collect coat, gloves, hats, and scarves with their newly acquired knowledge of the weather and clothing items.

Our students got to work and created posters that were bilingual in French and English that would be placed throughout the school. They prepared bilingual speeches that they used to advertise the coat drive in afternoon announcements. Students also decorated boxes with wrapping paper so that students could deposit their donations.
