Connecting Ancient China to Chicago’s Chinatown

Students in 6th grade have been studying ancient civilizations this school year. Since they are currently studying ancient China, as an extension event, students will travel to Chinatown to visit the Chinese American Museum of Chicago. At the museum, students will learn about the rich history of migration from China to our great city of Chicago through the study of artifacts and oral history.

Following our museum tour, students will tour through Chinatown and visit a local restaurant where they will have the opportunity to try traditional Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine.
