In October the kindergarten students learned how to be nature spies inside and outside the classroom. They read books about plants, animals, and fall. Students then took their new knowledge and curiosities to a Cook County Forest Preserve to explore nature first hand. The kids went on a nature hike looking for plants and animals. They learned about turtles and even got to touch one. During exploration time students were able to see more animals native to this area and play/work with each other in nature. It was an all around fun and authentic learning experience for the LaSalle II kindergarteners.
