LaSalle II Teachers Give Back

Over Winter Break a group of LaSalle II staff, including several members of the special education department, went to a volunteer session at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The goal for the day was to repackage large quantities of food that had been donated from food drives over the holidays into smaller portions. Our team was able to process 15,500 pounds of food over the course of 3 hours. This equates to roughly 12,900 meals that were distributed to those in need. We had an absolute blast giving back to the Chicago community and hope to turn this into a monthly adventure. Please reach out to Lauren Walther at lwalther@cps.edu if you are interested in joining a future trip.
