Last week Ms Waters and Ms Manas led a Museum of Science and Industry Field Trip for the first graders. Following are a few pictures and writings about their trip.
The museum still has favorite exhibits like the baby chicks that hatch while you watch, the idea factory that lets the kids experiment with simple machines and water.

My favorite part of the field trip is the idea factory. It is my favorite part because you get to play in the water and you can ride a bike to make water go up and you get to put balls in a tube that go to the factory. It is very fun.
If you haven’t been to the museum for a few years the U-505 submarine is in a new exhibit area which let’s you walk around it and check out its periscopes, bunk beds, and play a video game where you operate the ballast controls.
The museum has a Disney exhibit which runs until May that includes artifacts from Disney movies. It also includes drawing activities where everyone gets lessons on how to draw Mickey and Minnie.
This month the museum is displaying Christmas trees from around the world. They have trees decorated with ornaments typical of each country. The students examined these and picked one that they liked best.

Today we went on a field trip to the museum. We saw trees from around the world. My favorite tree was from France. I liked the blinking Eiffel tower on the top. My favorite part of the trip was the air mister. It was fun and felt like a shower.

My favorite part of the field trip was the tornado exhibit. I really liked using the levers to control the speed of the tornado. My favorite tree was the American tree. This tree was unique because it had presents and it was the tallest.
